What's involved with this role: Note: the pay rate is provisional only and the and will be amended with the confirmed rate once received Interim PT Prosecutions Lawyer Reference no: Rochdale 0009 B5DE / 1 Pay Rate: £40.70 per hour PAYE 15 Monday – Friday, TBC This opening assignment is for up to 1-2 months City: ROCHDALE Hybrid You will conduct Local Authority prosecutions, including some initial advocacy. Key Responsibilities: Examining police evidence and deciding whether to progress criminal proceedings Working closely with teams of caseworkers and administrative staff Communicating with the police, probation services and other law enforcement and criminal justice agencies Liaising with court staff and Criminal Defence Solicitors Communicating with victims of the crime Ensuring that the treatment of criminal offenders is fair Presenting the case against the defendant in court Advising and instructing court counsel Key requirements: Qualified solicitor / barrister or equivalent Completed Legal Practice Course or Bar Professional Training Course Legal knowledge including court procedures and government regulations Experience in Local Authority prosecutions Excellent verbal communication skills Active listening skills Excellent written communication skills Analytical thinking skills Ability to think clearly using logic and reasoning Be thorough and pay attention to detail Please quote the Job Title & Vacancy Reference No. in your application, or we will be unable to match your CV to the role being applied for.
