Would you like the opportunity to use your experience and excellent interpersonal skills to provide and develop a specialist nursing service to patients and their carers on an Iron Deficiency Anaemia (IDA) pathway within the Gastroenterology Team?
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Gastroenterology team. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Gastroenterology team to provide protocol driven- clinical decision making for patients on the IDA pathway.
This post will complement the existing Gastroenterology Nursing Team and will network with the other health services and providers.

This post is 19.5 hours a week, fixed term for 2 years funded by the Wessex Cancer Alliance.

· This new post will support the Gastroenterology Consultants in providing timely and high-quality assessment of patients referred with iron deficiency anaemia (IDA).
Deliver nurse led clinics, complete clinical assessment of patients and arrange endoscopic and radiological investigations as per protocol.
In partnership with the gastroenterology Consultants the post holder will triage 2 week wait referrals into the most appropriate pathway to ensure effective use of services and maintain the associated cancer performance standards.
To support patients throughout their Endoscopy pre-assessment pathway, working as part of the screening and pre-assessment team, with a high level of input into the management and care of patients prior to admission for specified procedures.
