Your New Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Tier 2 NOC Engineer with experience in supporting Fortinet hardware and software to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining our network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance. If you have a strong background in Fortinet support and are looking to take your career to the next level, we encourage you to apply Responsibilities: Network Monitoring and Incident Management Monitor telecom network infrastructure to detect and respond to anomalies, outages, and performance issues. Act as the escalation point for Tier 1 support, handling complex issues and driving them to resolution. Proactively identify and troubleshoot network-related issues with a focus on Fortinet hardware/software, including FortiGate firewalls, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, and other Fortinet security solutions. Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution Perform in-depth troubleshooting of network issues, including routing, switching, VPNs, firewalls, and security policies within Fortinet systems. Manage and resolve escalated tickets in adherence to SLAs, documenting troubleshooting steps and resolutions. Collaborate with Tier 3 engineers, telecom partners, and Fortinet support for advanced troubleshooting and issue escalation. Configure and maintain Fortinet appliances, ensuring proper implementation of updates, patches, and best practices. Process Improvement and Documentation Document troubleshooting steps, configurations, and resolutions for knowledge-sharing and process improvement. Contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and workflows for network operations. System Configuration and Maintenance Assist in configuring and deploying Fortinet hardware/software for new projects and expansions. Manage system backups, perform firmware upgrades, and ensure the health and performance of Fortinet systems. Implement and maintain VPN configurations, SD-WAN setups, and security policies in Fortinet environments. Conduct proactive maintenance tasks to optimise system performance and mitigate potential issues. Collaboration and Communication Work closely with internal teams, including Tier 1 support, field engineers, and other technical departments, to ensure efficient resolution of network incidents. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing updates on incident resolution and network performance. Prepare and deliver detailed incident reports and documentation for technical and non-technical audiences. Your areas of knowledge and expertise: Technical Skills: Strong expertise in Fortinet hardware and software, including FortiGate, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, FortiAP, and FortiSwitch. Solid understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, NAT, and IPSec/SSL VPNs. Experience with SD-WAN configurations and deployments. Familiarity with telecom network architectures, including MPLS and broadband technologies. Knowledge of network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds or similar platforms. Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder interactions. Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Team-oriented mindset with a focus on collaboration and mentorship. Experience: 3 years of experience in a NOC or network engineering role, preferably within the telecoms industry. Hands-on experience supporting and troubleshooting Fortinet solutions in a production environment. Proven ability to handle escalations and resolve complex technical issues. Experience in managing and deploying complex Fortinet Solutions including FortiGate, FortiAP and SDWAN. Preferably with relevant FortiGate Certified Professional qualification Certifications (Desirable) Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP) certifications, such as Network Security, Security Operations or The older Fortinet NSE 5 equivalent qualifications.
