Are you passionate about direct-to-consumer marketing and ready to take your career to the next level?
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Consumer Loyalty Executive to join our Consumer Loyalty team on a 12-month FTC. You’ll work collaboratively with our Head of Consumer Loyalty and be part of our entrepreneurial and digital-focused marketing team that forms a key part of our wider Brand division.
The role
In this role, you will be instrumental in building a thriving direct-to-consumer marketing program, growing a list of engaged users, and delivering segmented, personalised content that drives sales. You will also play a key role in creating a consolidated, segmented email program that competes with high performing newsletter channels in terms of return on ad spend. Under the guidance of our Head of Consumer Loyalty, you will support the implementation and operation of an automated marketing program, ensuring our marketing efforts are both effective and cutting-edge.
Key responsibilities:
1. Plan, build and execute a thriving direct-to-consumer marketing program, growing a list of engaged users and delivering segmented, personalised content that converts to sales.
2. Create consolidated, segmented email programs that rival paid newsletter channels in terms of return on ad spend.
3. Utilise existing platforms and data to implement a centralised direct-to-consumer automation program with a lifecycle from acquisition, onboarding, lead generation, sales, and loyalty.
4. Support the implementation and development of the new Penguin SMS Channel.
5. Collaborate with the Channels, Personalisation, eCommerce and Content teams to deliver our personalised, segmented email program.
6. Understand and own the data and reporting for Consumer Loyalty, and utilise this data to continuously improve email and SMS results and create awareness of value.
7. Set up regular test and learn campaigns that push our understanding of reader behaviours and align with our Consumer Insight into Action agenda, driving deep understanding of individual consumer segments.
8. Brief, write, repurpose, or adjust content from the content team as needed for Consumer Loyalty channels.
9. Build and track the performance of reusable custom audiences across marketing channels.
10. Implement consumer loyalty plans with a focus on email channels, supporting the growth of automated marketing over time.
11. Support divisions across the business with their B2C digital marketing, particularly focusing on a centre of excellence approach.
12. Manage GDPR tasks relating to our consumer database.
What you’ll bring:
1. Technical understanding of marketing automation platforms and platform operations to drive campaign success.
2. Proven experience as an Email Marketing Manager, CRM Specialist, Digital Marketing Specialist, or Consumer Loyalty Specialist.
3. Hands-on experience with email marketing platforms, marketing automation tools, and customer data platforms.
4. Excellent written communication and copywriting skills.
5. Proficiency in marketing automation is a plus.
6. Proficiency in email analytics, reporting, and data analysis.
7. An analytical mindset with a strong understanding of marketing science methods.
Our approach to hybrid working:
While our offices are places for you to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, having flexibility about where you work is just as important for doing your best work and for your wellbeing. So, we don’t have a one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to how we work in different teams across Penguin Random House UK.
This is a hybrid role based in our offices in London, as there are activities and meetings that you will need to support in-person twice a week. We are happy to discuss hybrid working arrangements with you during your recruitment process.
