Due to internal promotion, the Community podiatry service are looking to recruit a new clinical support officer.
The Community podiatry service provide clinics in Clacton, Colchester and Harwich, as well as home visits for housebound clients across North East Essex.
We assess and treat a wide range of foot conditions, and all ages.
You will join our growing team of podiatrists, apprentice podiatrists, and associate practitioners, who together provide assessment, education and treatment to our patients. Your role will be to assist in clinic where an assistant is needed, such as nail surgery and wound dressing clinics.
Once trained, you will also complete post nail surgery checks and redressings, under the direction of the podiatrist. You will also manage our stock levels, ordering items for stock, and specific items as required. Training on all systems used will be provided, but a confident grasp of basic IT skills is essential.
You will at times need to provide reception cover, and assist in referral and appointment management.
Good interpersonal skills are essential, to support effective communication with service users and MDT.
As a CSO you will work from our Clacton or Colchester base but will be expected to cover all areas as needed by the service (this is preplanned). A car driver and access to a car is desirable.
• Stock management and ordering
• To work closely with the Podiatry Team during Nail Surgery Clinics – assisting in clinic and doing simple redressing under delegation.
• Assist with short return clinics
• Arranging periodic reviews
• Preparing dressings boxes for podiatry clinics
• Management and tracking of equipment availability.
• Working closely with the Admin teams, including appointment booking, accepting referrals and possible reception cover.
