Customer Quality Engineer

Location: Halewood (with occasional travel to the West Midlands)
Contract Duration: 6 months
Rate: £33.20 per hour (inside IR35)

Job Description
As a Customer Quality Engineer, your main responsibilities include:
* Working within the Vehicle NVH technical department, leading engineering from concept to customer.
* Ensuring vehicles meet customer expectations and deliver unique characteristics.
* Contributing to the NVH Attributes Refinement Group, which includes Prevention, Delivery, and In-service Performance teams.
* Managing strategy, methods, targets, testing, detection, and resolution for Squeak & Rattle, and Water and Air Ingress attributes.
* Operating from the early phases of vehicle programs and collaborating cross-functionally throughout the product lifecycle.
* Addressing and resolving attribute concerns related to S&R, body sealing, and water leaks.
* Leading the issue investigation process and establishing root causes through collaboration with Manufacturing, Engineering, and suppliers.
* Applying a hands-on approach during investigations, following 8D methodology, and being able to interrogate drawings and models.
Qualifications / Skills Needed
* Automotive/Engineering degree or equivalent automotive experience preferred.
* Ability to strategize work streams based on the Business Plan.
* Experience in planning work/events and organizing detailed activities to achieve outcomes.
* Capability to lead large projects and resolve complex issues with cross-functional teams.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Experience in problem-solving methodologies, including Root Cause Analysis and 8 Disciplines.
* Familiarity with quality tools such as 8D, Fishbone, FTA, PDCA, and 5Y.
* Proficiency in analyzing large data sets and using MS Office applications.
* Ability to plan work in 2-week sprints and prioritize tasks effectively.
* Resourceful with hands-on complex problem-solving capability.
* Highly motivated, fast learner, and capable of handling multiple tasks.
* Willingness to quickly learn new skills (Growth Mindset).
* Good negotiation skills to promote issues to the next phase of investigation.
* Proactive and personable to engage with cross-functional teams.
* Understanding of automotive manufacturing processes.
* Ability to deliver presentations to work groups and senior management.
* Full UK driving license required.
