There is an exciting opportunity to join Bellway, one of the UK’s largest house builders. Our Head Office located in Newcastle upon Tyne is looking to recruit a Group Senior Cloud and Infrastructure Engineer to join the Group IT department.
As the Group Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer, you will be joining a small but efficient team of Infrastructure Engineers and Developers. The primary role is to support the Group Head of IT Infrastructure with the successful delivery of the IT roadmap and strategy, as well as monitoring the performance of our 3rd party MSP against committed service level agreements. This role will be project-based, architecting new solutions based on business requirements, identified risks, and growth, and to take the lead in the co-ordination and delivery of new technical solutions and infrastructure improvements.
The Role
The role of Group Senior Cloud and Infrastructure Engineer will report to the Group Head of IT Infrastructure.
Principal accountabilities of the role include:
1. Provision of quality technical support to the senior management and exec team
2. Provision of new IT technical solutions in line with our IT roadmap and strategy
3. Managing your own workload and time
4. Executing live changes to data and software in a controlled manner via approved change management procedures
5. Suggesting technical and process improvements to colleagues and managers and implementing them as directed/approved
6. Mentoring and development of the Infrastructure Team
7. Assisting the Group Head of IT Infrastructure with the development of internal SLA’s and system availability/uptime reporting (where applicable)
8. Assist in the testing and delivery of the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery procedures as required
9. Ensure all risks are documented and reported to the Group Head of IT Infrastructure and/or Group IT Director
10. Provide leadership and day-to-day management to the Infrastructure Team in the absence of the Group Head of IT Infrastructure
11. Working with and establishing relationships with third party service providers
12. Demonstrable documentation skills (reports, policies, procedures, workflows)
13. Occasional travel across the UK where required
Experience, Qualifications and Skills
Experience
1. Significant Microsoft Windows 2012 through to 2019 server administration skills
2. Significant Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy administration experience
3. Significant Microsoft 365 product stack knowledge and administration experience
4. Microsoft SQL 2012 through to 2017 maintenance and administration experience
5. Microsoft DHCP (Failover scopes) and DNS administration skills
6. Microsoft IIS administration skills
7. Understanding of Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery
8. Understanding of networking and experience of diagnosing network related issues
9. Understanding of VLANS, routing protocols, switch administration
10. Knowledge and experience of working with Amazon Web Services (EC2, VPC, S3, RDS etc)

3. Current Microsoft 365 Certifications

The Role and Working Conditions
You must possess a full UK driving license and have suitable transport with business insurance. Office based role, working Monday to Friday with some ad-hoc travel and overnight stays.
