SCOTTISH AMBULANCE SERVICE ICT DEPARTMENT ICT Governance & Compliance Manager Full Time 37.0 Hours per Week £48,788 - £56,747 per annum (AfC Band 7) Permanent Post The Scottish Ambulance Service is a national health board within NHS Scotland and one of three Scottish emergency services. It delivers scheduled and unscheduled ambulance services across Scotland. It is essential that our staff have access to key ICT systems and services on a 24x7x365 basis. To protect the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of the ICT systems and the information held on them, excellent governance and compliance is required. The ICT Department are currently looking for a dynamic, proactive and experienced manager to take ownership of maintaining and improving ICT governance and compliance. The aim being to improve ICT service quality and availability and therefore patient care. The scope of the ICT governance and compliance activities covered by this role will include, but not be limited to, ICT service management, ICT business continuity, ICT disaster recovery, digital maturity, ICT & cyber resilience, internal and external audit, and financial management. The core purpose of this role is to manage and improve the ICT governance and compliance framework in line with regulatory requirements (NIS Regulations), ICT service management good practice and relevant strategies (NHS Scotland and Scottish Ambulance Service). Duties will include but not limited to planning, managing and delivering improvements to current ICT governance & compliance arrangements as well as the specification and implementation of new policies, processes and procedures. Ideally candidates will have a proven track record within a comparable ICT environment and will be able to demonstrate sound knowledge of relevant ICT related frameworks, good practice, standards and legislation. Strong communications and interpersonal skills are essential as is the ability to manage change. The successful candidates must be self-motivated, resilient and resourceful. They must also be capable of working on their own initiative. The base for this post is negotiable but is likely to be in the central belt of Scotland due to travel requirements and regular office visit/meeting locations. The post includes participation in the ICT Duty Manager on-call provision as required. This needs an understanding of the critical ICT Systems within the Service, such as 999 telephony. This in turn requires an understanding of the impact of incidents upon them, and the ability to manage at times difficult/stressful incident management within complex ICT environment.
