Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking an Electrician to work with a Lancashire-based Local Authority on a temporary basis. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week (Mon - Fri).
The main purpose of the role is to maintain and review street lighting, illuminated road signs and bollards and associated electrical works in accordance with the relevant specifications / documentation.
Main Duties:
1. Carry out maintenance and construction work on public electrical apparatus relating to the highway.
2. Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation and all statutory obligations relevant to projects assigned, including adhering to BS 7671 IEE Regulation for electrical installation.
3. Understand, maintain and complete all documentation as required by the specification.
4. Drive / operate vehicles, plant and equipment associated with the role and carry out relevant maintenance.
5. Work alone or as part of a team, to assist in the maximum utilisation of street lighting equipment, plant and materials, to provide a cost effective best value service.
Essential Criteria:
1. Minimum 2 years' experience in an engineering / street lighting environment.
2. Relevant knowledge of Street Lighting maintenance and / or new works.
3. Ability to diagnose and remedy electrical faults to specification.
4. Ability to install new external electrical works to specification.
5. Able to interpret detailed drawings and understand electrical networks.
6. Capability to work to deadlines and use initiative.
