This ongoing role involves carrying out comprehensive Speech and Language Therapy assessments for patients with complex neurological conditions, particularly those who have experienced acquired or traumatic brain injuries. As an autonomous practitioner, you will use both standardised and non-standardised assessment tools and demonstrate specialist knowledge in the instrumental evaluation of swallowing, including the interpretation of video fluoroscopy and FEES (Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing) reports. This position offers flexibility with full-time or part-time hours to suit the successful candidate’s availability. What your responsibilities will be for this Speech and Language Therapy role? As a Band 6/7 Locum Adult Neuro Rehab Speech and Language Therapist, you will independently carry out detailed Speech and Language Therapy assessments for adults with highly complex neurological presentations, such as those following acquired or traumatic brain injury. Your responsibilities will include conducting both standardised and non-standardised assessments to evaluate speech, language, and swallowing functions. You will demonstrate specialist knowledge in the instrumental evaluation of swallowing, including interpreting video fluoroscopy and FEES reports. Additionally, you will develop and implement tailored therapy plans based on assessment findings, monitor patient progress, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Requirements: HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist Right to work in the UK Proven experience in adult neuro rehabilitation, particularly with complex neurological conditions Specialist knowledge in instrumental evaluation of swallowing, including video fluoroscopy and FEES. Strong clinical skills in both standardised and non-standardised assessment techniques Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
