The Jefferiss Wing is a busy and dynamic integrated sexual health service offering a wide range of services including screening for sexually transmitted infections, nurse-led follow up and treatment clinics, services for people who have experienced sexual assault, and other specialist clinics. We require an enthusiastic nursing associate with: Ambition to develop professional, clinical & research skills Ability to manage difficult situations & use own initiative Excellent oral and written communication skills Non-judgmental & empathetic attitude Main duties of the job Following the preceptorship period provide specialist advice to support and facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients and relatives/carers without supervision in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT). At all times ensure that the needs of the patient are placed at the centre of care delivery. Actively seek evidence-based practice to maintain competence and continue to develop and deliver a high standard of nursing care in HIV and Sexual Health. Monitor and maintain policies, standards of nursing care and staff development, as part of the nursing and MDT to maintain a safe working environment. Be flexible in the approach to the clinical area and provide cover for any area specified within the Jefferiss Wing and Trust.
