Job overview
The successful candidate will be joining a team who have a shared ethos of ensuring the young person is at the center of our decision making. The service has invested into ensuring that our staff team have a variety of health and wellbeing offers.
The post holder will be actively involved in the assessment and formulation for children and young people who have an Eating Disorder. The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary Eating Disorder team to develop and implement care plans and risk assessments, demonstrating good communication skills with partner agencies involved in the young person’s care to enable provision of high standards of evidence-based client-centered care.
The post holder will also hold a caseload of young people within the community, providing clinical assessment and interventions to children, young people, and their families with eating disorders. The role will include direct and indirect client work as well as consultation and liaison with other professionals around the specialist clinical area of CYPMH. The post-holder will be engaged in all levels of clinical response from urgent assessments to lower priority cases. The post holder will be expected to work as a member of the CEDS service and will be expected to ensure continuing development of their own practice and to support other team members in their development as appropriate.
Main duties of the job
* Act as a key worker for the child or young person with Mental Health illness within Wigan, Wrightington, and Leigh Trust, Rainbow Ward (WWL) to improve the quality of care received by individuals with a Mental Health need in the acute children’s hospital setting (not within CAMHS inpatient facilities).
* Promote and support the use of accessible communication methods, Communication Passport, and reasonable adjustment care planning.
* Support service delivery for Children and Young People with Mental Health (MH) needs, providing guidance, teaching, and specialist knowledge to their families/carers and to staff.
* Deliver and help the Team Lead in developing a strategy for children in hospital with MH needs using Quality Improvement to support implementation of improved care pathways.

* Post-registration evidence of training and development in Child and Adolescent Eating Disorder
Skills
* Offer advice and consultation to members of the multi-disciplinary team based on solid clinical experience of mental health nursing.
* Support the Team Managers and other Senior Practitioners / Professional Leads in the daily operation of the Teams.
