The Role
Business Development Analyst – Howden CAP
We are looking for a personable and highly organised individual to join Howden CAP (Capital, Advisory and Placement) as Business Development Analyst. This is a very exciting role for a detail-oriented person looking to help with the strategy of a new business idea, which will help connect capital across the Real Estate Market. You will also help support the wider team.
The person will play a key role in the day-to-day running and in supporting our Head of Real Estate (JT) for Howden CAP. As a Business Development Analyst, you will help with the strategy for the Howden Capital and advisory business, as well as business development support for the W&I team focusing on the Real Estate Sector.
What you’ll do
* Assist in the strategy and business plan for our Equity Advisory business.
* Keep up to date with all deals going on in the market and seek out opportunities.
* Fully understand ‘Compass’, our sales tool, and keep relevant notes up to date.
* Pull data from Compass and turn it into neat presentations.
* Arrange meetings for Head of Real Estate and UK Warranty & Indemnity (“W&I”) brokers.
* Scope out conferences to attend and ensure attendees' schedules are filled with relevant meetings.
* Help draft a “Real Estate” report fortnightly to be shared with the team.
* Create meeting sheets for Head of Real Estate and UK W&I brokers for future meetings.
* Join internal and external calls to take detailed notes.
* Keep the Real Estate introductory deck up to date.
* Work with the head of events to help organise Real Estate-related events.
* Attend various Real Estate-focused events and help with client entertainment.
* Work closely with the CDI team to ensure real estate targets (funds/lawyers/agents) are mapped out in a structured fashion.
* Ensure smooth running and organisation of Real Estate-related events.
* Keep Real Estate tombstones up-to-date and ensure needs/requirements of clients on all pitches, presentations, and RfPs are met.
Who we’re looking for
* Excellent attention to detail, adept at performing administrative and organizational tasks.
* Experience in a support role within a sales/Business Development environment.
* Good working knowledge of the Commercial Real Estate Industry and key players.
* Excellent working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
* Determination and ability to learn about real estate M&A – how deals are transacted and who the key players are.
* Analytical, with attention to detail.
* Ability to take on multiple tasks and prioritise appropriately.
* A team player with the ability to build relationships internally.
* Comfortable around clients and ability to uphold the Howden Values.
