The role supports the scheduling, coordination and release of all applications into non-production and production environments, ensuring the quality of non-production environments and effective management of release processes. About the Role Level : 4 Department: Technology Location : Southampton or Home Worker Contract type : Permanent Environment & Release Execution Supports releases of upgrades, new features and products into non-production and production environments. Coordinates release activities across teams, plans release windows and supports implementation. Collaborates with IT Operations to ensure that Release Management activity complies with Change Management processes and controls. Supports the management and maintenance of the environments used in the product release process. Contributes to the design, implementation and maintenance of tools and processes aligned to the Software Development Life Cycle standards to improve operational efficiency and the accuracy of software releases. Creates and maintains release documentation, plans and status reports. Manages Environment and Release risks and dependencies and escalates issues as required. Manages a set of DevOps tools that support the Software Delivery Life Cycle. Monitors, manages and reports progress on environment and release activity to stakeholders and ensures quality standards are met. Ensures best practice configuration management protocols are deployed within specified projects. Ensures security of access to maintain the integrity of the environments throughout the testing and release process. Provisions test environments for projects based on agreed requirements and ensures their continuous maintenance and integrity. Supports Service Management owners to enable requirements for service availability to be agreed and met. Practice Improvement Seeks opportunities for continuous improvement, optimisation and innovation within the Environment and Release Community of Practice, making recommendations and utilising best practice to drive efficiencies and enhance the delivery process. You will have demonstrable experience of successful Release Management and Deployment Management in a technically demanding environment. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of successful Environment or Technical Project Management in a technically demanding environment. You'll have experience with DevOps practices and implementing automation. You will have experience with Continuous Integration and Provisioning tools e.g. Jenkins, Ansible, etc. You will have strong knowledge of the IT delivery lifecycle, associated methodologies and their practical application. You will have proven experience of working closely with 3rd party suppliers and compelling experience in Stakeholder Management. Knowledge/Experience of Financial Services preferred but not essential. ITIL Foundation & key intermediate qualifications desirable.
