Here, You’ll Go Beyond Numbers
We’re looking for a talented Accounts and Business Advisory (ABAS) Senior who thrives in a dynamic environment and embraces the chance to tackle complex challenges. At MHA, you’ll be surrounded by passionate professionals who are dedicated to making a difference. Your work in Accounts will go beyond the numbers – it’s about building meaningful client relationships, understanding their businesses, navigating risks, and delivering insights that drive real results.
* Prepare financial statements in accordance with relevant financial reporting standards from books and records maintained by MHA or the client.
* Prepare accounting schedules to support the balances and transactions included in the financial statements.
* Check the work completed, produce review points for junior staff, monitor clearance of queries to ensure it is presentational and technically correct.
* Calculate more complex areas for sets of accounts completed by junior members of staff.
* Prepare accounts from records and produce set of financial statements.
* Produce a short summary on key client issues and the contents of the accounts before passing to the Partner/Director/Senior Manager/Manager.
* Adhere to proper accounting standards.
What We’re Looking For
* ACA or ACCA part-qualified – with experience in practice.
* Double entry bookkeeping skills.
* Basic tax knowledge – how to prepare corporation tax computations.
* Computer experience – Sage, Excel, Word and ideally CaseWare.
* Previous experience of supervising junior members of staff preferable (6-12 months experience).
* Good up-to-date technical knowledge including recent developments in accounting standards.
* Communication – oral and written, ability to deal with a variety of people in different environments.
* Organised – ability to deal with a variety of tasks and managing a varied workload.
* Client focused.
* Commercially aware.
