Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer
Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum

Are you an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer looking for your next challenge? This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic engineering group, working closely with sales, production, purchasing, and contracts teams to deliver high-value projects on time and to exacting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project delivery aligns with ISO9001 and ISO3834 Quality Systems.
Interpret contracts, focusing on the electrical and instrumentation scope of supply for centrifuge packages.
Participate in the tendering process—reviewing specifications, creating deviation lists, and negotiating scope of supply to meet customer and engineering standards.
Prepare P&IDs in line with client and internal requirements, negotiating scope of supply where necessary.
Attend and contribute to KOM, HAZOP, and SIL assessments, both remotely and on-site at vendor locations.
Specify electrical components such as motors, heaters, and junction boxes, ensuring compliance with ATEX and IEC Ex standards for explosive environments.
Develop comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOM) for the entire electrical scope, including skid electrical components like instrument fittings, glands, cables, and trays.
Engage with sub-vendors for technical and commercial discussions.
Produce key engineering documents, including Instrument Lists, IO Lists, Cable Lists, Interconnection Diagrams, Control Philosophies, Cause & Effect diagrams, and Logic Diagrams.
Compile and attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), including third-party FATs for DCS-controlled equipment.
Experience & Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in industries driven by stringent client specifications, ideally within the petrochemical sector.
Strong self-motivation and flexibility, with the ability to thrive in multi-disciplinary teams.
Proven track record in managing projects valued between £200K and £6M, typically lasting up to a year.
Mechanical engineering knowledge is advantageous but not essential.
