We are seeking a dedicated Bricklaying Lecturer to join our Further Education college in Carshalton. This role involves teaching both Level 1 and Level 2 bricklaying courses. The position is available to start as soon as possible and offers an indefinite contract, providing stability and a rewarding career path in educational development.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Deliver engaging and informative lessons in bricklaying to students at Level 1 and Level 2.
* Prepare lesson plans and teaching materials that meet curriculum standards.
* Assess and evaluate students’ progress and provide constructive feedback.
* Maintain classroom discipline and ensure a positive learning environment.
* Stay updated with the latest trends and techniques in bricklaying and construction.
* Participate in departmental meetings, training, and college events.
* Support students in their learning and career aspirations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience in bricklaying, either in an educational setting or within the industry.
* Qualified to teach at FE level (PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent teaching qualification).
* Strong practical and theoretical knowledge of bricklaying and construction.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to inspire and motivate students.
