This wonderful nursery, based in Great Dunmow, is looking for a confident and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our small, friendly team. We cater to children aged 2-5 years, providing a nurturing environment that aligns perfectly with the Montessori ethos. Our nursery comprises a single, light, and spacious room, ensuring a cohesive and engaging learning experience. Situated in a rural area surrounded by cricket grounds, being a driver is essential for this role.
The suitable candidate will be willing to work Monday-Friday 9am-5.30pm and looking for someone who is passionate about building their career towards becoming a room leader/deputy manager position at our nursery in the near future.
The nursery are also offering mentoring in Montessori pedagogy and practice opportunities at their setting.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Provide high-quality care and education to children aged 2-5 years.
2. Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that aligns with the Montessori philosophy.
3. Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that encourage children's development and curiosity.
4. Monitor and record children's progress, ensuring individual needs are met.
5. Foster strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
6. Ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times.
7. Assist with the preparation and maintenance of materials and equipment.
8. Follow safeguarding procedures to ensure all children are kept safe, well, and secure.
9. Collaborate with the team to support the nursery's growth and expansion plans.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
10. Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years Qualification.
11. 3 years experience working with young children, ideally within a Montessori setting.
12. Strong understanding of child development principles.
13. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
14. Patience, adaptability, and a genuine love for working with young children.
15. Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
16. A valid driving license and access to a vehicle, as the nursery is in a rural area.
