To provide effective supervision within the logistics team ensuring a continued professional and responsive service is delivered to meet the needs of patients, staff and visitors. 5 Supervisor Positions available, varied hours/shifts, 1 position for the Glenfield Hospital, 2 positions at the Leicester Royal Infirmary and 2 positions at the Leicester General.
To deliver the service within budgetary restraints set by the line manager.
Completion of work rota’s, recording sickness and absence and approving annual leave, liaising with the Portering Team Leader as required. Planning and Undertaking planned staff appraisals Deliver and record mandatory training and any training required for the porter role.
Complete and update Trust Mandatory Training Waste Handling Infection Prevention Control Moving and Handling Training NVQ – support services/cleaning Infection Prevention Control Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Leadership Level 2 Course (NVQ/Apprenticeship) Mortuary training and training staff Undertake Tug training.

• You will be Responsible for scheduling and reactive flow of tasks requested prioritising and allocating to staff to meet the needs of the service. Ensuring that the most urgent requests are allocated and completed in a timely manner.
• Monitor stock levels of linen within the department ensuring that sufficient linen is always available within each area and reporting to the Logistics Co-ordinator in the event of any shortfalls.
• Regularly monitor waste collections within the department to ensure that bins are routinely emptied and relined as required and that waste is correctly segregated and stored/removed
• Liaising with main Portering Pool to ensure timely removal/replacement of waste bins and dirty linen to the central compounds of the hospital, adhering to trust waste policy.
• Ensure that any faulty or broken equipment is clearly identified as such and is reported.
• Reporting of Incidents, accidents or near misses in accordance with Trust procedure.
• Ensuring that the correct storage and economical use of materials and chemicals following, COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) policies and procedures.
• Carrying out cleaning duties when and where required.
• Complete a daily handover’s ensuring that accurate, detailed information is communicated to the team and your Logistics Manager
