The Business Intelligence (BI) team is a diverse team of professional services staff that support the University in achieving its strategic plans and operational priorities.
We are currently seeking a Student Metric Insight Manager to work across the university supporting Schools and Services in understanding their performance, enabling them to make evidence-based decisions, while supporting an insight led decision making culture through the upskilling of key stakeholders on BI and analytics.
The role will be responsible for the scenario planning and modelling of data, analysis, including student numbers, continuation, student satisfaction, B3 indicators and league table performance, acting as a “critical friend” by presenting potential impact of actions to senior leaders and producing insight to answer key strategic questions. It acts as a business partner for the schools, supporting the dissemination of data and insight, embedding the provision of self service at a local level. This role will ensure the production of Insight on Student metrics to support Executive and University Executive Board (UEB) in decision-making, through the utilisation of internal and external data.
The postholder will have extensive experience of analysing and presenting complex data in an accessible manner, a high level of IT literacy alongside demonstrable experience of working in partnership with colleagues to achieve objectives. They will lead the provision of high-level analysis and interpretation of internal and external data relating to the student experience and student outcomes by analysing complex data sets using a range of quantitative and qualitative methodologies to inform UEB about performance in key metrics and trajectories of performance. They will also provide quantitative and qualitative data evaluation for the purposes of planning and student outcome interventions.
Working with the Head of Business Intelligence, the wider BI team, and Digital Services colleagues, the postholder will play a pivotal role in promoting data literacy across the University. They will also ensure timely identification of evolving and emerging analytics trends to enable institutional readiness to meet future needs.
