Position Summary:
Working at a live Rail Depot, you will initially be engaged in the implementation of a suite of Mechanical modifications on the Electrostar Fleet. In addition, the position holder will eventually be responsible for carrying out routine maintenance. You will take overall responsibility for vehicle examinations in line with vehicle maintenance instructions (VMI's). Undertake all types of maintenance examination work to ensure that we provide a safe, reliable, and defect-free train. You will also take responsibility for the safe, efficient, and professional workmanship of yourself and others under your control. Duties could include the following:
1. Mechanical Interiors/ Roof & Underframe inspections
2. Carrying out inspections and checks to ensure reliability of fleet
3. Carrying out mechanical modifications
4. Carrying out work recording via both paperwork and computer (SAP)
Ideal Candidate:
A diligent professional able to work well as an individual or in a team. Relevant experience required:
1. History of completing safety-critical work
2. Ability to undertake detailed fault finding and analysis by reading and following electrical and pneumatic schematic drawings
3. Comprehensive knowledge of Electrical & Mechanical Principles
4. Computer literate and experience of using a maintenance management system for work recording
Qualifications:
A Level 3 qualification or higher in an Engineering discipline is a requirement.
