The Role
Security of our People, customers, premises and assets are always of paramount importance. This role is responsible for ensuring Pret’s Security practices are in keeping with company standards and expectations, are effective and are continually reviewed. There are 3 key areas of focus in this role: Security, Investigations and Contractor Management.
This person will be required to work alongside Pret’s shop teams as well as Support Centre departments, coaching to improve standards and security in all areas.
The role has responsibility for managing Pret security related contractors such as CIT (cash collection process), CCTV, Keys & Locks, Alarms, Safes, Airport Passes, Body Camera, and Guarding company.
This role is responsible for ensuring the protection of Pret’s assets by analysing trends, activities and reports to detect and prevent fraud/losses internally and externally to Pret.
Responsibilities:
Shop & Support Centre Security
* To build and maintain a strong relationship and network with Local Police initiatives and BID and forums like ORIS.
* Manage and ensure all vacant Pret premises are secure.
* To ensure Security related questions are reviewed annually and updated in Shop Review.
* To work with the Property team, ensure that are maintained to highest standards of security (camera positioning, office locations etc) and feedback on any changes to plans at design stage with any NSO or layout changes in are shops or offices to improve security.
* To ensure that Shops & Offices are visited regularly to effectively ensure security standards are maintained.
* To ensure Pret’s Security standards are communicated effectively that areas of concern are highlighted and acted upon by shops/Ops/75b. Respond to security incidents in shops & offices and ensure that the correct processes and procedures are followed.
* Responsible for periodic review of processes and procedures and the maintenance of Security related Policies.
* Conflict management and training for shops – working with Pret’s suppliers to ensure training is provided to shops.
* Maintain the access control system at Support Centre locations and ensure the correct access level is granted to employees and all leavers and new starters are managed correctly.
* Provide support and advice during incident which may impact the security of people, customers, premises or assets.
Investigations
* Analysing reports to detect and prevent possible fraudulent and suspicious activities.
* Reviewing high risk transactions and performing research to identify fraudulent versus legitimate customer activity.
* To carry out all internal investigations in a timely manner, ensure that all key stakeholders are kept informed and that all supporting evidence is passed to the HR team and/or Police.
* To track trends and develop ways to mitigate risk.
* To represent Pret externally when required, such as in a court of law.
* To conduct investigation of security related incidents, work closely with Operations and HR in the above investigations.
* Provide CCTV for any investigation ie police or internal incidents.
Contractor Management
* To manage Pret’s relationship with all security contractors – CIT (collection process only), CCTV, Keys & Locks, Alarms, ICoupon, Safes and Guarding company etc.
* To manage Pret’s cash collection contract – cash collection process only.
* To Manage budget related to all security contractors mentioned above.
* To manage and regularly review 3rd party security guarding contractors in shops to ensure the utmost safety of our teams and customers.
Other
* To ensure that Pret has the right security processes in Airport and Train stations (Passes, sharps control, training etc).
* To ensure that written useful feedback is provided to shops and other departments.
* To work with Pret’s Academy Team to produce workshops and training materials for all security related standards.
* To support licensing activities with the estates team ie Late night refreshment licence, temporary events notice and alcohol.
Additional Information
The role is largely office-based however, it may require travel to UK shops which may include some overnight stays. This may include other markets that Pret is present.
Role often requires the holder to be fully flexible and arrange to travel in short notice.
Skills and experience
* Security experience (Internal or External).
* CCTV software operation.
* In-depth knowledge of Pret’s business, with emphasis on the operation of shops.
* Excellent Knowledge of financial practices and their operational application.
* Good analytical skills.

The salary range for this role is £35,000 - £50,000 per year.
