Salary range: Salary Band 6 SCP 23 -25 (£33,366 to £35,235)

About the Role
We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity to join our skilled team at our Trafford children’s home. Working in a 5 bedded children’s home, you will provide the day-to-day care needs for the children and young people living at the home. You will need to form good working relationships with the young people and develop a good knowledge of their individual needs. Working within a staff team, you will support the home to provide high standards of care and accommodation. You need to be a good role model to the young people, be an advocate, and ensure you listen and act on their wishes. We work to create and maintain a loving and homely environment for the young people in which they are given opportunities to create happy memories. We provide a nurturing and restorative approach to support young people to achieve their goals and aspirations.
The post holder will provide all aspects of care needs and interventions, in line with the young people’s Core Assessments and Care Plans. Developing effective action plans with a focus on reducing risks and building on strengths is central. ‘Key Working’ with young people is integral to the post; working ‘with’ young people to develop their resilience and life skills supporting them to successfully manage the transition to independence.
About you
This role will require you to establish strong relationships with children and their families providing residential care for children and young people living at the home. Key characteristic requirements of this post are flexibility, commitment, building effective relationships, resilience, persistence, and the ability to progress plans. The post requires an enhanced DBS, working a rota, and undertaking sleeping in duties.

Additional Information
The home operates a rota to provide 24-hour care.
You will be required to work on a rota, and an unsocial hours allowance will be paid.
The role involves shift work which includes evening and weekend working.
An enhanced DBS check with children barred list check will be required.
You will be required to drive in this role.
