Job summary To work as part of the Dermatology Team undertaking supervision asappropriate. To provide a comprehensive, efficient and effective phototherapy booking service, and go onto display sensitivity and tact in dealing withpatients and relatives. Main duties of the job To receive telephone calls from patients in order to make theirappointments and any accompanying booking that is necessary,ensuring that they are booked for the in the correct cabinets and withinthe correct waiting times, e.g. booking an interpreter if necessary.Respecting the needs of the patients and resources of the service at alltimes. To resolve queries with a comprehensive knowledge and the use of thepartial booked and fully booked methodology. To act on Waiting TimesTargets and DNA (Did Not Attend) rates, with some directions whenappropriate To liaise closely with Dermatologists/nursing staff and their secretariesin regards to patient cancellations and any other patient queries relatedto their appointments To observe all dermatology lists, and follow booking rules set up by thedermatology unit.
