Here at Mayborn Group we’re on the lookout for an experienced category manager to join our team at our global HQ in Newcastle upon Tyne as our new Senior Global Category Manager – Electricals!
This role is highly strategic and commercial in focus.
As the Senior Global Category Manager – Electricals you will be responsible for category growth, market share expansion, and consumer insights to shape our product portfolio for Electricals including shaping the go-to-market strategy. You will work cross-functionally with marketing, sales, product development, and retail partners to deliver innovative and trend-led solutions that meet the evolving needs of new parents.
What you will be doing:
* Drive the development and execution of the long-term category vision and strategy over the next 2-4 years, aligned with business goals.
* Identify market trends, consumer behaviours, and competitive opportunities to drive category expansion.
* Lead the innovation pipeline by collaborating with product development on new product launches.
* Analyse sales data, market insights, and competitive intelligence to inform decision-making.
* Drive pricing, promotion, and assortment strategies to optimize category performance.
* Partner with regions to ensure key retailers and e-commerce platforms can maximize distribution, shelf space, and sales growth.
* Lead consumer research initiatives to understand the needs of Gen Z and Millennial parents.
* Develop compelling category narratives and shopper marketing activations that resonate with new parents.
* Use data-driven storytelling to influence both internal stakeholders and retail partners.
* Work closely with marketing, sales, supply chain, and product development teams to align category objectives.
* Manage the category P&L, ensuring strong ROI on marketing and trade investments.
* Lead key retail and e-commerce partnerships, collaborating on joint business planning.
What skills and experiences you’ll need to ace this job:
* Proven category management experience in consumer goods (baby products, personal care, or related categories preferred).
* Strong analytical skills, with expertise in Nielsen, IRI, Kantar, or other data sources.
* Experience working with major retailers and e-commerce platforms.
* Proven ability to develop category strategies, drive innovation, and influence stakeholders.
* Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate insights into action.
* Experience of product development and launch planning.
* Experience working with Gen Z & Millennial audiences is a plus!
