We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our Children and Families team in the West Midlands. As a Social Worker, you will work within the practice framework, applying the county’s practice standards and procedures. Your role will involve collaborating with families, empowering them to care for their children, and working cooperatively with children’s services, health agencies, and other community services.
Location: West Midlands (3 days in office/visit, rest remote)
Responsibilities:
* Conduct timely and thorough assessments of children’s needs, drawing on theoretical knowledge, evidence, and best practices.
* Enable families to develop plans for necessary changes, ensuring sustainable improvements in children’s daily lives.
* Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to departmental quality assurance and improvement efforts.
* Support the learning and development of others, including mentoring ASYE colleagues.
* Maintain high-quality court reports and case note recording.
* Promote health and well-being in the workplace, fostering a sense of belonging and safety.
* Respectfully engage with diverse individuals, recognizing their worth and preserving their dignity.
* Stay informed about changing policies and adhere to the Code of Ethics and social work values.
Requirements:
* Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent)
* Registration with Social Work England
* Experience in child protection and safeguarding
* Strong communication and assessment skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Commitment to continuous professional development
