Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the General Manager in the delivery of high quality and affordable services.
2. Lead on people matters with regards to employee relations, including grievance, absence, disciplinary, and performance issues.
3. Provide operational leadership to relevant teams/services/sites, collaborating with other Service Managers and Clinicians as required.
4. Advise on clinical and professional issues, based on guidance from clinical and professional leads within the organisation.
5. Identify operational, clinical, and professional issues that need to be addressed and alert as required to reach agreed actions.
6. Exercise judgment in analyzing highly complex events or situations to identify the most appropriate way forward.
7. Support clinical governance and reporting in collaboration with General Managers.
8. Promote compliance with national professional requirements.
9. Provide quality assurance information from the patient interface to support the governance framework.
10. Develop and implement quality and performance monitoring arrangements for services, using the DCHS methodology for Integrated Quality Performance and Assurance Matrix (IQPAM), Quality Always, We Care, etc.
11. Assist the General Manager in ensuring integrated planning and provision across geographical areas and promote partnership working with key stakeholders.
12. Work closely with the General Manager, commissioning colleagues, and Primary Care Networks to develop Service Level/Partnership Agreements that support efficient service delivery.
13. Support patient and public involvement in service development by implementing Patient Experience processes.
14. Ensure employees are aware of and use appropriate reporting mechanisms, implementing subsequent action and management plans.
15. Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff, contributing to safeguarding and early intervention processes.
16. Undertake an appropriate clinical caseload or deliver patient care as required.
17. Ensure appropriate emergency planning arrangements and resources are in place, including the development and maintenance of service-level business continuity plans.
18. Work to tight deadlines and deliver to agreed quality standards and timescales.
19. Act as a nominated deputy for the General Manager if required.
