GSL Education’s Lincoln Branch is seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join and work in Grantham schools on a full-time or part time basis. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students requiring additional support, helping them reach their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. Your role will involve providing personalised support, assisting with classroom activities, and ensuring each student’s individual needs are met. SEN Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities: Individual Support: Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with special educational needs, tailoring your approach to meet their unique requirements. Classroom Assistance: Assist the classroom teacher in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Personal Care: Support students with personal care needs, ensuring their well-being and comfort throughout the school day. Behaviour Management: Implement positive behaviour management strategies to help students develop social and emotional skills. Resource Preparation: Help prepare learning materials and resources to support teaching and learning activities. Progress Monitoring: Assist in monitoring and recording student progress, contributing to the planning and assessment process. SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements: Experience: Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs is highly desirable. Knowledge of additional needs such as Autism, Learning Difficulties, Speech, Language and Communication Needs, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs is beneficial. Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff. Commitment: A genuine passion for working with students with additional needs and a commitment to their development and well-being. Flexibility: Ability to adapt to varying needs and situations within the school environment.
