Description Joining Heathrow’s Rail Engineering team will give you broad exposure to broad range of electrical and mechanical systems. With the support of a world-class team of experts, you will be responsible for fault finding, servicing and maintaining Heathrow's fleet of trains and Pods, and our track transit system (TTS). This role will see you working in a number of settings, from underground tunnels to our mechanical workshop. It's exciting work, where no two days are the same and the work you do will be vital in keeping our airport running smoothly. Responsibilities Enabling Heathrow’s passengers to experience the best airport service in the world, through commissioning our new fleet of passenger trains. Applying your knowledge and skills to phase in new vehicles and phase out older stock. Investigating faulty or poor-performing assets, identifying improvements and implementing meaningful change to improve the airport experience. Keeping records up to date, for example the maintenance history of our assets, to create efficiency and meet Heathrow’s regulatory requirements. Showcasing your passion for ‘doing the right thing’, by proactively spotting hazards, reducing risks and creating a safer environment for all. Carrying out all duties with consideration and a respect for best practice and continuous improvement. Qualifications NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a recognised engineering discipline. Strong mechanical skills, gained in a practical working environment. Experience working with trains, trams or rolling stock highly advantageous. Demonstrable analytical skills with sound problem-solving ability. Ability to prioritise in a complex and fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills.
