We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Programme Manager to join the Academy’s Research Programmes team for up to 6 months to lead the impactful Google DeepMind Research Ready scheme, a pivotal initiative aimed at expanding research access and development for underrepresented undergraduate students in engineering and related fields.
The Role
As the Programme Manager for the Research Ready scheme, you will play a pivotal role in managing and developing this important programme, designed to support underrepresented undergraduate students seeking research experience and career development opportunities in engineering and related fields. You will oversee all aspects of scheme planning, delivery, and evaluation, working closely with university partners, the Academy team, and other key stakeholders.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking an individual with creativity, initiative, and flexibility to lead the development and management of the Research Ready scheme, ensuring it provides outstanding opportunities for students and contributes meaningfully to advancing diversity and inclusion in research.
The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in project or grant management, including budget oversight, alongside strong organisational skills. A good working knowledge of the higher education landscape and engineering research communities in the UK is desirable.
You will be an effective communicator, skilled in both verbal and written communication, and capable of building and maintaining strong relationships with partners and stakeholders. You should be comfortable working both collaboratively and independently, able to perform effectively under pressure, and experienced in managing delivery partnerships with other organisations.
