Consultant Anaesthetist with a Special Interest in Chronic Pain

Applications are invited for the post of Consultant Anaesthetist with a special interest in chronic pain.
The Department of Anaesthesia gained ACSA accreditation in 2021. From November 2020, Bradford became the site for the West Yorkshire Vascular Service (WYVAS), a single site serving Airedale, Bradford, Calderdale and Huddersfield. We are a tertiary centre for Pain Management and work closely with Community MSK teams. We specialise in ultrasound and fluoroscopic guided procedures, Qutenza, TENS and neuromodulation therapies including Spinal Cord Stimulation and reactiv8. Our MDT includes Psychology and Physiotherapy.
The base hospital is Bradford Royal Infirmary where anaesthesia and implantation of neuromodulation devices are performed. Pain clinics and other day case theatre work is held at St Luke's hospital, 2 miles from Bradford Royal Infirmary. There is a new daycase facility at St Luke's hospital to support the elective recovery and an opportunity for some anaesthetic and pain sessions to relocate to this new site.
Main duties of the job
This post is to provide anaesthetic services for the variety of surgical specialities as outlined in the timetable. Bradford Teaching Hospitals caters for all surgical specialities except major cardiothoracic, neurosurgery and transplant surgery.
The duties of the post may be changed from time to time in the light of changing requirements of the Anaesthetic Service subject to the agreement of the post holder.
The post holder will support the General Anaesthesia services within Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. You will be based in the Anaesthetics Department at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust carrying out general Anaesthetic duties.

Person Specification
Experience
* Evidence of completing a period of approved training in Anaesthesia
Qualifications
* MBChB or equivalent. MRCP or FRCS or equivalent to speciality - (UK) or equivalent. Member of the Royal College of Anaesthetics (UK) or equivalent. CCT or within 6 months of AAC date. On Specialist Register with GMC and continue to hold a licence to practise.
