Overview One of our clients, a leading organisation in the energy and infrastructure sector, is seeking a Debt Associate to join their Structured Finance team in London. This role provides an exciting opportunity to work on complex financing transactions within the renewable energy, energy storage, and broader infrastructure sectors. The successful candidate will play a critical role in evaluating, structuring, and executing debt financing solutions while supporting ongoing portfolio management and market engagement activities. Key Responsibilities Assisting in the structuring and execution of debt financing transactions, including project finance, term loans, and other bespoke debt solutions. Building and maintaining detailed financial models to analyse debt structures, assess risks, and evaluate potential returns. Supporting due diligence efforts by reviewing financial, legal, and technical aspects of projects. Preparing high-quality investment memoranda and presenting analyses to internal and external stakeholders. Coordinating with lenders, investors, and advisors to manage transaction processes and documentation. Monitoring the performance of debt portfolios, tracking key metrics, and supporting portfolio optimisation efforts. Conducting market research and staying abreast of trends in debt financing within the energy and infrastructure sectors. Providing insights and recommendations on emerging market opportunities and competitive landscapes. Building and nurturing relationships with banks, institutional lenders, and other financing partners. Working closely with internal teams, including investment professionals and senior leadership, to ensure alignment on transaction goals. Qualifications & Experience A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field is required. 3–5 years of experience in structured finance, debt advisory, or project finance, ideally within the energy or infrastructure sectors. Exposure to debt structuring and execution, including familiarity with financial documentation and due diligence processes. Strong financial modelling skills with a solid understanding of valuation and debt structuring techniques. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex financial concepts clearly. Familiarity with market trends and regulatory frameworks relevant to the energy and infrastructure sectors. Highly motivated, proactive, and team-oriented. Comfortable working under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrates a genuine interest in energy transition and sustainable finance.
