Prospero Teaching is currently recruiting for an Alternative Provision Lead to join a supportive and dynamic team at a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Mitcham. Job Title: SEN Alternative Provision Lead Location: Mitcham Full-Time: 5 days per week Hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm, plus parent evenings Salary: Leadership pay scale salaries are determined by the national pay scales Start Date: ASAP (January 2025) End Date: On-going Contract Type (temp/perm/temp to perm): Temporary with the opportunity to go permanent Key Responsibilities: · Lead and manage the provision of education and support for students in the PRU, ensuring tailored interventions to meet their individual needs. · Oversee the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies. · Manage a team of teaching assistants, ensuring they are effectively supporting students in and outside the classroom. · Work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to monitor student progress and well-being. · Create a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes positive behaviour, emotional development, and academic progress. · Provide guidance and support to students to improve their social, emotional, and behavioural skills. · Foster strong relationships with students and staff to promote a positive school culture. Key Requirements: · Experience in an Alternative Provision or similar setting is desirable. · Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team. · Excellent knowledge of SEN, SEMH, and behaviour management strategies. · Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including parents and external professionals. · A commitment to creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment. EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS · QTS or equivalent · Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST · Hold Right to Work in the UK · Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application · Provide two professional child related references that cover the last 2 years Prospero Teaching is acting as an employment business/education recruitment agency in relation to this vacancy.
