We are currently recruiting for SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistants in South Yorkshire. We are working with a specialist Academy for students aged between 7-16 years old who have a diagnosis of Autism. We are looking for full time Teaching assistants, the ideal candidate would be talented, creative, and enthusiastic about being a positive role model for students.
Teaching Assistants are given an opportunity to make a positive impact on students with autistic spectrum conditions and communication and interaction difficulties.
MUST -
* Be available to start early September
A successful Teaching Assistant candidate would:
* Have experience as a Teaching Assistant in specialist educational settings either in mainstream schools or any other alternative provision.
* A history of working as a Teaching Assistant with students with challenging behaviour, autism spectrum and complex needs.
* A confident, caring, and assertive personality
What to expect as a Teaching Assistant?
* Working in these settings requires patience, confidence, and a caring attitude as many of these students have difficult social, emotional, and mental health issues which need to be managed.
* Many of the students will have difficulties in displaying these emotions in a productive way so the use of Team Teach positive behaviour management strategies will need to be used often.
