Role x You: We are looking for a creative team to play a key role in delivering disruptive, award-winning culture-driven creative ideas. As an Art Director working with your copywriter, you have an eye for detail, conceptualising and developing integrated solutions across various creative outputs. In the short term… You would be expected to tackle every brief with smart, creative thinking. Take risks in the process, but always ladder back up to the strategic and cultural POV. Develop, extend and maintain the visual equities of a brand across channels, build a rapport within the team and work towards understanding the nuances of the brands on our roster. Be a pro-active thinker, constantly on the lookout for ways brands (existing or prospective) could shake things up with a simple idea. After 6 months in this role… You would be conversant with client expectations on our roster of brands, be able to take initiative and lead on certain smaller projects and be able to contribute usefully to ideation requirements. Be agile, understand the need to pivot and know how to offer alternate solutions when needed. Continue to seek out exciting moments in culture for brands and collaborate with all members of the team to deliver award-winning work. Responsibilities: Ideation, development and implementation of culturally-relevant creative concepts across all media channels. And beat us to identifying new playgrounds to explore. Develop creative concepts and 360° campaigns in collaboration with the Creative Leads to ensuring high quality, on-brief and impactful work with storytelling at its core Stay current on cultural and societal trends, digital tech, as well as visual design techniques and software tools. Help build presentation structure and visual references Ensure content is innovative, on-brand and consistent with VIRTUE’s values Self-motivated, taking on pitches and projects and own your work from start to finish Collaborate with Strategy, Project Management, Client Services and Production throughout the entirety of ever project Manage and work – sometimes independently and under tight deadlines – while juggling multiple projects You have these: Smart, bold, creative thinking and a “culture-nerd” mentality Desire to create successful, culturally relevant, award-winning creative At least 3-4 years’ experience as a Creative/Art Director in an advertising agency or start-up Ability to think visually, communicate and present Proficiency in major design and page layout software programs Strong design, typography and verbal communication skills Passion, positivity and drive Appreciate a borderless and diverse collaboration A forward-thinking and socially-conscious perspective Ability to work both independently or with a team Experience balancing several projects at once with tight deadlines Deep knowledge and interest in tech, digital media, social media and content Proficiency in Google suite, including Google Slides and Keynote Strong portfolio showing a range of styles and relevant experience We’d love if you also have these: As a global agency, additional language skills are a bonus Working at VICE: We want to find people who believe in our mission and goals and feel inspired to grow while they’re here, rather than someone who checks the boxes but isn’t invested.
