Finance Shared Services – Regulatory Reporting Associate
The Disclosures team within Glasgow Finance is part of the global External Reporting team which produces financial regulatory reporting of the Firm in accordance with multiple accounting and regulatory frameworks. We have a demand for career-minded individuals to join our team.
The team is responsible for preparing various financial disclosures of the Firm including those produced in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS as well as preparation of Financial Regulatory reporting.
As a result of the ever-changing regulatory and financial reporting environment, the team is a key contributor across numerous projects arising as new requirements are issued by our Regulators. The Disclosures team also invests in continual enhancement of production processes through digital tooling as well as enhancing our reporting control environment.
The team works closely with several stakeholders across the Firm including Global Product Controllers, Finance Technology as well as Legal Entity Control and the Accounting & Regulatory Policy Group.
The team currently consists of 12 members based in Glasgow with a collaborative culture and a positive work environment, as evidenced by the average service length.
In addition, there are 2 members of an extended team that are responsible for the adoption of Firmwide strategic data and a project to move reporting to a new Cloud-based platform.
What will you be doing?
* Engage with the Global External Reporting team to deliver ongoing book of development work to automate reporting within the Encore Cloud-based platform.
* Where necessary, learn the report production processes to be capable of supporting the production team(s).
* Work with global colleagues to build and document internal processes and controls, identifying opportunities for ongoing improvement.
* Partner with IT and Finance colleagues to identify authoritative sources and internal ownership for data.
* Analyze and interpret datasets in Excel, summarizing and presenting findings to management.
* Prepare high-quality materials for multiple internal forums as well as for internal senior management.
What we’re looking for:
* Self-motivated with the ability to work consistently and efficiently to achieve goals either as an individual or as part of a team.
* Experience of interpreting, summarizing and presenting results in a meaningful format.
* Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) and ability to engage with colleagues/clients of all levels.
* Highly numerate with an attention to detail and accuracy.
* Strong Microsoft application skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
* Accounting background and knowledge of Financial Statements; qualified or part-qualified accountant.
* Understanding and experience of data governance concepts.
* Experience within the Financial Services Industry.
* Familiarity with Rally/Power BI.
* Familiarity with the Agile project management framework.
* Domain knowledge in Capital markets including understanding of financial products (e.g.: Options, Futures, etc.), domains (reference data, risk data etc.).
Where will you be working?
Working in a collaborative growing team in the Glasgow Finance division on a 3/2 hybrid model.
