Job overview
This role will be at band 6 while training and move to band 7 only when all competences are completed and signed off.
The Advanced Practitioner will work within the MRI team taking a flexible approach to rosters and management of the service, including cross-site working as demanded by the service.
They will be an advocate for multidisciplinary and interdepartmental cooperation to promote best possible patient pathway and care.
Lead new practice and redesign utilizing evidenced-based data and analysis and develop effective relationships to manage service demand and technological advances. Robust governance and procedural documentation to be developed.
The post holder must be able to work autonomously in their field incorporating complex informed decision making whilst at the same time aware of their own limitations and when consultant input is required. They will engage in self-directed learning as required and motivate a culture of team learning and professional development throughout the department to deliver training in their specialist field offering support to junior staff medical and non-medical.
The post holder will have highly developed specialist knowledge to Masters Level or equivalent supported by extensive practical MRI radiographic experience and is expected to undertake Research and Development activities, audits, and clinical trials analyzing complex facts and data to inform service improvement.

Provide clinical expertise by demonstrating appropriate expert practice and specialist advice in the specific area of their MRI knowledge and reporting as applies to own qualification. This will demand high levels of autonomy and advocacy.
RESEARCH / AUDIT / SERVICE REVIEW AND EVALUATION
Lead and participate in audit and research and benchmarking activities to ensure effective safe and evidence-based practice is delivered with high standard of patient care.
