Teaching Assistant
Are you a caring and adaptable individual looking to make a difference in early years education? Sense Education is seeking an SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN setting in Kendal, supporting young children with additional needs in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide tailored support to children with SEND, helping them engage and thrive in their learning.
2. Work closely with teachers to adapt activities and meet the varying needs of students.
3. Foster a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment that encourages development.
4. Support children with their social, emotional, and communication skills.
5. Assist with classroom preparation and contribute to a positive learning space.
What We’re Looking For:
1. A TA qualification or another relevant childcare/education qualification.
2. Experience supporting SEND individuals (children or adults) is highly beneficial.
3. A kind, compassionate, and adaptable approach to meeting individual needs.
4. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Role Details:
1. Location: Kendal
2. Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM (part-time applications welcome)
3. Start Date: Immediate

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available.
