Hourly Care Assistant to support a Young Man

We are recruiting a Personal Assistant on behalf of our client, a young man who is a wheelchair user with Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 2. He is looking for a team of compassionate PAs to enable him to be as independent as possible, whilst out and about in the community.
Location: Crowthorne, Berkshire (RG45)
Shifts & Hours: 14:00 - 20:00 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday (6 Hour shifts), 11:00 - 23:00 on Wednesday (12 Hour shift)
Rate of Pay & Benefits:
Start: ASAP
Pay: £16 per hour
Holidays: 5.6 weeks annual leave, pro rata.
A Full UK Driving licence is required for this position as you will be required to drive the client’s vehicle.
About Our Client:
Our client has Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 2 and will require support with certain aspects of life such as personal care, medication administration, commuting to appointments and general social support. Day-to-day duties will vary; however, you will receive training in all aspects of his care/equipment. As a PA, we are looking for someone proactive, organised and able to follow instructions given by the client.
Our client loves gaming and watching YouTube videos in his spare time. He has a huge passion for the Star Wars Franchise and Marvel films. Previously, he has attended Comic cons in the UK and would enjoy doing similar events. Our client is looking for a supportive individual who will encourage him to try new sports and events to enrich his life.

Duties Would Include:
* Providing comprehensive support in daily activities, both at home and during outings
* Offering personal care assistance
* Assisting during social outings
* Assistance with organising
* Accompanying the client to medical appointments
* Support with housekeeping
Skills & Requirements:
* A Full UK driving license (Essential)
* Confident driver as you will be expected to drive the client's vehicle
* Excellent communication skills
* Open-minded
* Good organisation skills, and the ability to work on your own initiative
* Ideally independent, but also reliable and trustworthy when necessary.
* Physically fit, calm & patient
* Comfortable with pets, as the client has a small dog
