The company:
A well-established national civil engineering company that focuses on highways, bridges, airports, sewage systems, pipelines, new build residential estates, commercial new builds, and railways.
The role:
As the Shuttering Carpenter, you will be responsible for:
1. Creating forms for bridges, foundations, beams, and staircases
2. Building structures on site using wood or assembling metal frames made elsewhere
3. Dismantling casts without damaging them for reuse
4. Measuring, cutting, and shaping wood or metal
5. Working closely with your team to pour concrete into molds
6. Checking work for accuracy
7. Producing concrete blocks of the exact shape and size required.
About you:
A minimum of 2 years' experience working as a Shuttering Carpenter is required. Ideally, you should hold a CSCS skill card; if not, you must provide relevant references. You should be able to work in a team or independently and be conscious of health & safety.
To be successful in your application for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
You will need a current and valid CSCS card or CPCS/NPORS CSCS. Any of the following qualifications would be an additional benefit: abrasive wheels, manual handling, street works, first aid, etc.
