Our Specialist Technologies facility in Hereford is seeking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer to strengthen our proactive and reactive support for manufacturing operations where problem solving skills in electro-mechanical systems are a key requirement.
The role is hands on, requires diligence, accuracy and an ability to work flexibly within a small team environment. Reliability, a positive attitude to learning new skills, a commitment to work safely and an ability to communicate effectively are paramount. Experience with high temperature, high pressure systems within an AS9100 and NADCAP business is desirable. Mentored training will be provided.
Key responsibilities:
* Timely and effective response to machine breakdowns.
* Diligent application and development of preventative maintenance measures.
* Insightful & pro-active continuous improvement to enhance safety, asset reliability & efficiency.
* Support activities related to legal compliance.
* Support the business in maintaining its accreditations.
* Co-ordinate and supervise sub-contractors.
* Assist with the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
* Work effectively with the business to deliver excellent customer service.
* Assist with the maintenance of suitable spares inventory.
Qualifications, experience and skills:
* Good general education, with strong literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
* HND in electro-mechanical systems or equivalent with track record of hands-on application.
* Experience working with compressors, pumps, cooling systems and PLC controlled high temperature furnaces is desirable.
* Effective approach to problem solving is essential.
* Diligent, methodical and accurate with high attention to detail.
* Effective communication skills and an ability to work well within small teams.
* Ability to reliably interact and work safely with complex, high risk electro-mechanical systems.
