The Mayflower Medical Group which has recently been acquired by the Fuller and Forbes Partnership are recruiting for up to 13 sessions of GP time and are open to full time or a mix of part time applicants. We are looking for sessions across our 5 sites within Plymouth.
Main duties of the job
The SalariedGP is integral to providing primary healthcare services and ensuring thewell-being of the patients across all demographics. This role involvesdelivering a full range of medical services, including diagnosis, treatment,and prevention of diseases, to patients of all ages, managing both acute andchronic conditions. The position requires a collaborative approach tohealthcare, working alongside a team of healthcare professionals to facilitateeffective treatment outcomes and high standards of patient care.
In additionto clinical duties, the Salaried GP will actively participate in theimprovement of medical services within the practice, contributing to practicemanagement and decision-making processes. This role is pivotal in maintaininghigh clinical standards and patient satisfaction and requires staying updatedwith medical practices and guidelines that govern general practice

Recently acquired by the Fuller and Forbes partnership, Mayflower Medical Group is a collection of 5 GP Surgeries based across Plymouth. Our surgeries provide healthcare to 35,000 patients at the following locations Stirling Road, Ernesettle, Trelawny, Mannamead and Mount Gould.

Our service is undertaken by our vast multidisciplinary team of GPs, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Pharmacists, Paramedics and Nursing teams, as well as our PCN staff.
Job responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities:
* Patient Care:Deliver comprehensive medical care to patients, including consultation,diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. Assess, diagnose, and treat a wide rangeof conditions, initiate referrals to specialist services as necessary.
* Chronic DiseaseManagement: Oversee the management of complex chronic diseases usingpatient-centred, structured approaches. Utilise the latest clinical guidelinesto ensure effective management of complex conditions.
* Acute MedicalCare: Provide urgent care for acute medical conditions and make decisionsregarding the need for emergency hospital admission.
* PreventativeMedicine: Implement strategies aimed at disease prevention and health promotionwithin the practice population.
* Home visiting:undertaking home visits including triage of visits as and when required.
Administrative Tasks:
* Record Keeping:Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for all patients, ensuringconfidentiality and adherence to GDPR and other relevant legislation.
* Quality Improvement:Participate in quality improvement programs that include audits, patientsurveys, and reviews of services to enhance clinical outcomes.
* MeetingParticipation: Engage in regular multidisciplinary team meetings to collaborateon patient care, practice development, and clinical governance.
Educational Activities:
* Training &Supervision: Provide guidance, teaching, and supervision to junior doctors,medical students, and practice staff to promote continuous professionaldevelopment within the practice.
* ContinuedProfessional Development: Maintain and enhance medical skills and knowledgethrough ongoing CPD and training.
Communication:
* PatientCommunication: Employ excellent communication skills to explain diagnoses,management plans, and therapeutic procedures to patients.
* CollaborativeHealthcare Delivery: Work closely with healthcare professionals within thepractice and the wider medical community to provide seamless and integratedcare for patients.
Leadership and Management:
* Team Involvement:Contribute to the practice's management by offering insights and expertise inthe development of practice policies and protocols.

* Proficiency in all areas of general practice, including patient consultation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care.
* Expertise in managing both acute and chronic conditions, with a comprehensive approach to patient care.
Qualifications
* Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
* Completion of a full course of training in general practice (CCT) or equivalent recognised by the GMC.
Regulatory Compliance
* Knowledge of current NHS practices, guidelines, and legal regulations affecting general practice.
Experience
* Experience in a primary care environment within the NHS, showing a track record of effective patient care and teamwork.
