We are recruiting a Senior Quantitative Researcher to join our team of experts in quantitative public health research in the field of Tobacco Harm Reduction. Since 2014, the Centre has been undertaking regulatory science research, including cross-sectional and longitudinal studies, to evaluate the public health impact of electronic cigarettes and other next-generation tobacco and nicotine-based products.
The successful applicant will take a key role in designing, executing, and reporting behavioural research studies within the Centre; work with statisticians to ensure studies are executed with a high level of statistical rigor; use well-established methodologies; be experienced in the analysis and publication of quantitative data; and excel at working to a high level of detail in a diverse and often time-critical, high-pressure environment. Successful applicants will be expected to lead projects within CSUR, requiring minimal support from other senior staff members.
Responsibilities:
* Experience in designing Randomized Controlled Trials, Longitudinal Cohort Studies or Actual Use Studies.
* Experience in writing study protocols.
* Ability to confidently interpret and present study findings to regulatory bodies and professional and lay audiences, telling the story of the impact of the findings on public health and policy.
* At least 5 years of experience working within the field of public health or in the tobacco and nicotine industry.
* A master's degree or above.
* Have authored at least 5 peer-reviewed publications in high impact-factor public health journals.
Funding has been secured for 5 years initially. If successful, you would be working in a supportive and exciting research environment with an attractive salary package of between £65,000-£75,000 per annum, which additionally offers incentive-based bonus payments. Our work is all about research within a fast-paced and dynamic team; you won’t be burdened by admin or bureaucracy, nor will you need to divide your attention to teach or tutor.
We offer a generous Royal London Insurance pension, life insurance, good sickness benefits, and private health insurance. We work from beautiful recently refurbished offices in the West End of Glasgow and offer a supportive, open work environment where all our staff are valued and well-resourced. Office working is preferred, but remote working is also offered.
