This role is field-based in the LA/BB/OL postcode areas and is a permanent, full-time position working 37.5 hours per week. Benefits include 25 days of annual leave, a company vehicle, and a fuel card.
My client is a well-respected water technologies company seeking a Service Engineer to provide top-quality on-site corrective and preventative maintenance, along with after-sales technical and commercial support. The role involves participating in the 'On Call Rota' for weekends and out-of-hours work once fully trained.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Adhering to and enforcing the company's and client's health & safety policies.
2. Maintaining a professional image in all customer interactions.
3. Developing and maintaining good relationships with customers, being punctual, helpful, and courteous.
4. Being flexible to meet customer needs and working hours.
5. Reporting progress or delays to the Service Manager promptly.
6. Completing and submitting risk assessments, work reports, and other documentation timely.
7. Completing site tasks efficiently.
8. Identifying opportunities for system improvements and providing quotations for parts, upgrades, or refurbishment.
9. Liaising with the sales team regarding potential leads.
10. Providing feedback on product development.
11. Updating line managers on issues affecting the company.
12. Carrying out commissioning on standard equipment.
General requirements include:
1. NVQ or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or working towards it (preferred but not essential).
2. GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths.
3. A full UK driving license.
4. Experience in the water industry.
5. Knowledge of the healthcare and scientific markets is desirable.
6. Experience as a Service Engineer or in technical support.
7. A passion for providing excellent customer service.
8. Ability to handle challenging conversations professionally.
9. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
10. Ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
11. Professional approach and good IT skills.
12. Organizational skills with attention to detail.
13. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
