Team Lead Location: Belfast Salary: £17.30 per hour Hours: 37.5 hours per week (3 x 12.5-hour shifts, including weekends) Contract Type: Permanent About the Service The service is a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Service offering 12 single-occupancy apartments. It provides a person-centred approach to individuals with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum disorder, and complex needs. Operating under the PBS framework, the service offers 24-hour care and support. Purpose of the Role As part of the management team, the Team Leader will support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager to deliver high-quality care in compliance with the Domiciliary Care Agencies Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2007 and Minimum Standards. The role involves supervising the support team, ensuring personalised care plans and risk assessments are implemented, and managing resources effectively. The position requires flexibility, including working unsociable hours, weekends, and public holidays as part of a rota. Key Responsibilities Service Provision: Delegate and oversee personal care and housing support tasks. Ensure staff follow service users' care and support plans. Act as a key advocate for service users, promoting their best interests. Develop person-centred care plans with meaningful goals. Ensure service users engage with the community and maintain an active, healthy lifestyle. Work closely with healthcare professionals and families to maximise quality of life. Leadership and Supervision: Provide leadership to the support team and act as a role model. Supervise and mentor staff, addressing performance issues as needed. Promote a positive team environment and ensure effective shift management. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure adherence to Positive Behaviour Support Plans and manage incidents. Maintain high-quality documentation in line with legal and organisational standards. Report safeguarding concerns, adverse incidents, and health and safety issues promptly. Resource Management: Support service users with budgeting and managing finances. Oversee the use of service resources to ensure budgetary compliance. Team Development: Identify training and development needs for staff. Provide in-service coaching and mentoring. Contribute to staff appraisals and performance evaluations. Essential Criteria: GCSE Maths and English (A*-C) or equivalent. Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or commitment to obtain within six months). At least two years' experience in a social care setting, including six months with behaviours that challenge. Knowledge of the service user group and their needs. Competency in IT, including Microsoft Office packages. Desirable Criteria: A recognised qualification in nursing or social work. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services.
