We’re offering a paid Electrician Conversion Programme, specifically designed for people like you, no matter what stage of your electrician career you are in – we’re open to seasoned experts and those who are closer to the start of their career.
This programme is tailored to help skilled electricians transition into Film & TV production. You’ll work with experienced lighting teams, learning the ins and outs of on-set practices, as well as the equipment used across various productions. Successful applicants will be paid and gain valuable industry knowledge while working on real productions scheduled for 2025.
Role & Responsibilities:
This is an opportunity to learn about working in the Film & TV Industry – no previous Film & TV experience required. The successful applicant will not be expected to be able to complete all of these duties in advance.
1. Assemble the lighting and filter equipment needed
2. Ensure all lighting equipment is in working order
3. Liaise with the gaffer, best boy and other crew to interpret their creative vision into the lighting design
4. Pre-rig the lighting and ensure all cables and wires are safely concealed
5. Operate and maintain equipment during the shoot
6. Change lighting between shots, as necessary
7. De-rig all equipment at the end of the production and ensure it is safely transported away from the location and/or stored
8. Adhere to and understand risk assessments for health and safety purposes
9. Work as part of a large crew, made up of many different departments
Start Date: Week Commencing Monday 27 January 2025
Contract Type: 6-months Fixed Term
Salary: £600 per week + Holiday Pay
Working Pattern: 50 hours per week, based on production filming schedules
