Job Title: 1:1 Learning Support Assistant - Verbal, ASD Low-Level Child (Year 1)

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young learners? We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to work with a verbal, low-level ASD child in a Year 1 class at a small primary school in the heart of Hackney.

The Role: As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the learning and development of a verbal, low-level child within a Year 1 classroom setting. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored assistance and facilitate the child's participation in classroom activities, ensuring they receive the support they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a verbal, low-level child in a Year 1 class
* Assist the child with understanding and completing classroom tasks and activities
* Implement individualized strategies and interventions to support the child's learning and development
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the child's confidence and independence
* Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress and adjust support strategies as needed
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly verbal, low-level children
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with students
* Patience, empathy, and a compassionate approach to supporting children with diverse learning needs
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow direction from the class teacher and SENCO
* Commitment to promoting inclusion, diversity, and equality in education
