Job: Compensation Benefits Advisor (Data Analytics)
Location: Birmingham (Hybrid)
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
Purpose:
Working with the HR team you will provide specialist support and data analysis for the annual salary/compensation process, strategic reward projects, job evaluation, and local compensation programs. To oversee and administer a fair and competitive compensation and benefits package aligned with the company's strategy and goals.
Responsibilities:
1. Annual Compensation Process: Collate annual compensation data, analyse the data, and support the production of reports for budgeting and year-end reporting.
2. Compensation Philosophy: Develop a consistent compensation philosophy in line with the work culture and organisational objectives.
3. Compliance: Ensure that compensation practices comply with current legislation (pay equity, human rights, etc.).
4. Decision Making: Use various methods and techniques and make data-based recommendations on direct financial, indirect financial, and non-financial compensations.
5. Job Evaluation: Prepare job descriptions, job analyses, job evaluations, and job classifications.
6. Regulatory Reporting: Produce ad-hoc regulatory reports and reviews, such as the Gender Pay Gap Report, ensuring accurate data collation, analysis, and insightful content for external reporting.
7. Pension and Benefits Administration: Work with third parties in the administration of pension, insured, and voluntary benefits.
8. Market Surveys: Participate in salary and labour market surveys to determine prevailing pay rates and benefits.
9. Communication Strategies: Deploy effective communication strategies and success metrics.
10. Research: Conduct ongoing research into emerging trends, issues, and best practices.
11. Audits and Reports: Conduct periodic audits and prepare reports.
Qualification, Skills, and Attributes:
1. Excel Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills, including v-lookup, pivot tables, and IF statements, with experience handling large volumes of data.
2. PowerPoint Skills: Proficient in using Microsoft PowerPoint.
3. Benchmarking and Job Evaluation: Knowledge of benchmarking and job evaluation methodology (WTW advantageous).
4. HR Knowledge: Working knowledge of broader HR implications relevant to this role (payroll interfaces, HRIS, HR advisors, and managers).
5. Multi-tasking: Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize.
6. Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
7. Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail.
8. In-house Experience: Experience of working in an ‘in-house’ reward function (desirable but not essential).
9. HR Systems: Experience in using HR systems.
