Join the Close Brothers Credit Risk Team where you will support key decision-makers across the Credit Leadership Team while working closely with a range of stakeholders across different levels of the bank’s diverse businesses and functions.
This is a hands-on, analytically focused position where you will develop a well-rounded understanding of credit risk in a collaborative environment. Your contributions will directly impact the bank’s credit risk management, ensuring accurate reporting and robust governance.
You will work closely with the Credit Risk Manager to coordinate reporting on the bank’s overall credit performance, monitor the adequacy of provisions across portfolios, and facilitate key risk processes, including credit risk impairment reporting, ICAAP delivery, and external market disclosures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Assist in maintaining and improving the bank’s credit risk reporting framework, ensuring the accuracy of key risk metrics.
* Support the monitoring of provisions and impairments across diverse lending portfolios.
* Work closely with Finance and Modelling teams to ensure high-quality credit risk data and analysis.
* Maintain the group-wide IFRS 9 reporting framework, ensuring accuracy and consistency across reporting processes.
Risk Committees and Governance
* Support the preparation of materials for risk committees, ensuring clear and concise reporting for senior decision-makers.
* Assist with the review of committee packs, meeting minutes, and coordination of committee logistics.
* Contribute to the preparation of external credit risk disclosures, including analysis of credit quality and macroeconomic factors.
* Engage with external auditors to ensure smooth audit processes and governance compliance.
Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP)
* Assist in the annual ICAAP process by supporting credit risk assessments, including analyses of capital requirements and concentration risk charges.
Ensure all activities meet regulatory, governance, and compliance standards, adhering to reporting requirements set by regulators.

* Strong Analytical & Reporting Skills – Ability to interpret data, produce clear reports, and convey complex findings to senior stakeholders.
* Effective Communication – Excellent verbal and written skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior management and cross-functional teams.
* An Attention to Detail – Strong accuracy in data analysis and report preparation to ensure compliance and reliability.
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE/ARE:
* Knowledge of Credit Risk – Familiarity with credit risk principles, impairment and provisions, and regulatory frameworks.
* Technical Proficiency – Experience in analysing data using software (e.g., Excel) and awareness of credit risk modelling concepts.
* Project Management Abilities – Capable of coordinating cross-team efforts and supporting key projects within tight deadlines.
* Financial Services Knowledge – Understanding of banking operations and how they impact credit risk.
* Stakeholder Engagement – Ability to build strong relationships with internal teams and external auditors.
