We are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant for a Long Term role for a fixed term to start January 2025 with the possibility to start earlier if notice periods allow. The students are age 11 : 16, the school is based in North Manchester and they are searching for caring and resilient staff to be part of their dedicated and supportive team. All the pupils who attend the school will have an Educational Health Care plan, the students have complex needs, autism, severe learning difficulties, social, emotional and mental health difficulties, sensory/physical needs or specific learning difficulties.

The responsibilities of this role include:
* Working with pupils on a one to one basis or in small groups
* Supporting the teacher to deliver informative and engaging lessons
* Support students with behaviour that is challenging
* Preparing for lessons (e.g. preparing resources, putting out equipment)
* Supporting with some of the pupils additional care needs (e.g. feeding, toileting)
* Supporting the children in completing day to day tasks around the classroom and with their learning
* Ensuring that pupils are safeguarded and supported
The requirements for the role are:
* A DBS on the update service
* Experience working with children or adults with additional needs
* Experience with behaviours that are challenge
* A calm and caring personality
* Excellent behaviour management
* A strong and resilient personality
* To be committed to pupils development
* A dedication to creating a positive learning environment for pupils
* Team Teach trained : or willing to attend training over the summer break
